Our Story

dlivrd: Transforming Last-Mile Delivery with Innovation

Our story begins with a cheesesteak. dlivrd founder and CEO Chris Heffernan’s journey started in 2011 at Big Al’s Cheesesteaks in Delray Beach, Florida, where a conversation about food delivery sparked his vision. After launching Foodcab—an on-demand food delivery service—he pioneered Philadelphia’s local delivery scene years before national competitors entered the market. When demand shifted, Foodcab’s closure gave rise to something even bigger: dlivrd.

Founded in 2018, dlivrd specializes in last-mile, high-quality catering delivery, providing logistics solutions for restaurants and same-day food and e-commerce orders. With a robust network of thousands of drivers across over 150 markets in two countries, dlivrd has become a trusted partner in scalable, tech-driven delivery solutions for the food and retail sectors.
