On the second day of our week-long event, our team headed to Camp Woods Preserve for a Sapling Protection initiative. Our goal was to support the growth of young trees by removing old protective tubing and installing new stakes and netting.
This task was crucial for a couple of reasons. The protective tubing, once useful, needed to be removed to allow the trees more space to grow. By installing stakes and netting, we helped ensure that the young trees would be shielded from wildlife that might otherwise nibble on their branches, promoting healthier growth.
