dlivrd Teams Up with Wissahickon Trails:

A Day of Impact at Camp Woods Preserve

For over 60 years, Wissahickon Trails has been a cornerstone of environmental stewardship in the Wissahickon Valley. Their dedication to preserving and enhancing the watershed—a 64-square-mile area that drains into Wissahickon Creek—has made a significant impact on local ecosystems. By partnering with neighbors, activists, and local governments, they use both preservation efforts and scientific innovation to sustain and protect this vital landscape.

As part of our company’s traditional “Together Week,” we had the unique opportunity to engage with Wissahickon Trails in a hands-on conservation project. On the second day of our week-long event, our team headed to Camp Woods Preserve for a Sapling Protection initiative. Our goal was to support the growth of young trees by removing old protective tubing and installing new stakes and netting.

This task was crucial for a couple of reasons. The protective tubing, once useful, needed to be removed to allow the trees more space to grow. By installing stakes and netting, we helped ensure that the young trees would be shielded from wildlife that might otherwise nibble on their branches, promoting healthier growth.
To keep the day engaging and foster a bit of friendly competition, we divided our team into two groups. Each group was tasked with stacking discarded tubes into designated piles. The challenge was to see which team could handle the most tubes, adding an element of fun to our conservation efforts.
The competition brought out the best in everyone. There was a palpable sense of enthusiasm and camaraderie as we worked side by side, each group determined to outperform the other. The end result was not just a job well done in terms of sapling protection, but also a memorable experience that strengthened our team spirit.
As we wrapped up the day, we felt a deep sense of accomplishment. Our efforts contributed directly to the health of the young trees and, by extension, to the overall vitality of the Wissahickon watershed. It was rewarding to see the tangible impact of our work and to gain a greater appreciation for the ongoing efforts of Wissahickon Trails.
At dlivrd, we are committed to making a positive impact, both locally and globally. Our day at Camp Woods Preserve was a perfect example of how teamwork and environmental stewardship go hand in hand. We left the preserve with a renewed commitment to supporting causes that matter and with a stronger bond as a team.

We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Wissahickon Trails and look forward to future projects that allow us to contribute to the health of our environment. Here’s to more days of meaningful work and “dlivring” a difference!
