With a career that began in gig food delivery during the COVID lockdown, he found himself with extra time after over 20 years as a sales manager for a local property developer. Retirement didn’t slow him down—instead, it opened the door to new opportunities. After seeing an ad for dlivrd online, he jumped right in, and the rest is history.

Starting with just a few assignments every couple of weeks, he quickly built a reputation for reliability and exceptional service. This trust was rewarded with more regular job offers. Of course, the journey has not been without its challenges. One day, a flat tire threatened to delay a delivery, but quick thinking saved the day! He called an Uber and still managed to complete the drop-off on time, proving that a little creativity goes a long way.
Tips for Success from a Veteran
What advice does he have for new earning partners? “Invest in a hand cart,” he suggests, “and give yourself plenty of time between deliveries from other apps. Always make dlivrd deliveries your top priority. Your success is tied to dlivrd’s success—more earning opportunities will come as you build your reputation.”
Favorite Dishes and Memorable Moments
When it comes to his favorite dish from a restaurant he’s delivered for, butter chicken from Kinara on Davie Street takes the top spot. Along the way, he’s enjoyed positive interactions with restaurant staff, who often commend his patience while waiting for orders. Some customers have even expressed a wish for him to be their exclusive delivery partner—high praise, indeed!
Among his most memorable moments is a delivery to a gaming software company where he encountered a massive 10-foot statue of Optimus Prime. He asked for permission to take a photo, and the customer kindly offered to snap a picture of him with the iconic figure.

Did you know he’s almost obsessive when it comes to new deliveries? Benjamin goes above and beyond to ensure each delivery is flawless, even going so far as to scout the location a day in advance to find the best parking and loading options.
